+Printers zijn niet alleen een bron van ergernis omdat ze constant niet werken, maar ook een bron van e-waste vanwege hun korte levensduur. Onze oude printapparaten worden opgeslagen in bergruimtes en brengen daar hun bestaan door. Soms worden ze op schroothopen gedumpt. Printers zijn ondoden die ons achtervolgen.

+In deze workshop verkennen we de innerlijke werking van printers. Met een DIY en DIWO aanpak en door het hacken en modificeren van verouderde printers vinden we verschillende toepassingen en betekenissen voor ze. Bestaat er een manier van printen die verder gaat dan het hebben van problemen met een driver? Kunnen we afgedankte printers gebruiken voor iets anders dan frustratie?

+Printers are not only a source of anger due to their constant non-functioning, but also a source of e-waste due to their short lifespan. Our old printing devices are stored in storage rooms and spend their existence there. Sometimes they get handed over to waste dumps. Printers are undead and haunt us.
+
+In this workshop, we explore the inner workings of printers. With a DIY and DIWO approach and by hacking and modifying obsolete printers we find different uses and meanings for them. Is there a printing beyond having driver problems? Can we repurpose e-waste printers in something beyond frustration?
+
+If you have an old printer, bring it to the workshop.
+
+This **Extratonal Education** session will be supervised by **Joseph Knierzinger** and **PLF**.

+**Nightshift** is een vierkoppig muziekcollectief uit Glasgow dat onlangs hun nieuwe album 'Homosapien' uitbracht via Trouble In Mind Records. Na verschillende line-upwisselingen, waarbij de band een aantal leden verloor, een aantal nieuwe erbij kreeg en de bezetting daarna door elkaar schudde, slaagde ze erin hun speelse en chaotische energie om te zetten in nummers met een tot nu toe ongeëvenaarde optimistische urgentie. Hun muziek is de ultieme normale mix van rock, pop, jazz en klassieke noise. Pas op, want misschien nemen ze hun kleinkinderen mee, die op een avond zonder cod behoorlijk gemeen kunnen zijn. Binnenkort verschijnt hun eerste plaat, maar niet vanavond.

+**Nightshift** are a four-piece music collective from Glasgow who recently released their new album 'Homosapien' via Trouble In Mind Records. After several line-up changes, during which the band lost some members, added some new ones and then shook up the line-up, they managed to transform their playful and chaotic energy into songs with a hitherto unparalleled optimistic urgency. The chaos of these existential times drives them further and further into a dizzying universe, of which we will bear witness at Varia.

+**(S)LOW FREQUENCIES** is a desire of (delaying) time and (situating) space to explore (in conversation) low frequencies and their impact on bodies and spirits. Through experimentation with a synthetiser, guitar, microphone and comfortable spaces the group is interested in shaping sonic land(scape)s. They approach sound making through soft connecting and slowing down as resistance.

+**Become Hees Black Cod** is the lovechild of the Patagonic symphonic triangle player Titi Tabarnac and Rotterdam local Daniel O Fockerty aka. golden throat who sometimes plays the banjo. Their music is the ultimate normal mix of rock, pop, jazz and classical noise. Watch out because they might take their grandchildren along who can turn out quite nasty on a codless evening. First record coming up soon, but not tonight.

+*The Moving Amusement Wheel*  is a service provided by the larger **Screenless Office** project which is a kind of "artistic operating system" constrained by a desire to get through everyday life without using a pixel-based display. Research in focus groups found a strong interest among users wishing to enjoy *hilarious GIFs* and other forms of simulated motion images. The Department of Humor was able to develop a solution leveraging a small-format thermal printer and a modernized version of the 19th Century zoetrope, allowing viewers to enjoy *dank memes* etc. without resorting to digital phantasmagoria.

From a sonic legacy, ashé signifies permanence: the constant gaze for and at the instruments, the bodies, and the tunes with which enslaved people declared their emancipation, blending ritual with celebration, we remember.
