+A lowkey social hangout for those who like to write computer programs in the company of other people. If you're curious about coding, are looking for some inspiration, just wanna put your headphones on and hack, or otherwise, you are welcome to come by and hang out.
+
+Within Varia, we are interested in creating space for coding practices and would like to build community around this idea; especially in relation to addressing the politics and social issues surrounding coding.
+
+Calm Coding Socials is a self-organised moment: there might be pop-up study groups, chaotic pair programming or just a lot of people sitting on couches looking at their laptops. At the start and end of each session we will do a sharing moment to check-in & check-out with each other. Whether you are looking to follow an online tutorial, or want to work on a particular project, you are welcome to join!

+We recognise the historically muddy waters of mainstream coding communities and the dominance of patriarchal and capitalist mindsets and behaviours within them. We aim to build an inclusive space and would ask all those who attend to take a moment to read the following:

+Een laagdrempelige bijeenkomst voor wie het leuk vindt om te gaan programmeren in het gezelschap van anderen. Als je nieuwsgierig bent naar coding, op zoek naar inspiratie, wil gewoon je koptelefoontjes aan en dan gaan hacken of anders nog iets, wees van harte welkom om rustig langs te komen.

+Binnen Varia zijn we geïnteresseerd in het creëren van ruimte die gericht is op de praktijken van coding en willen graag gemeenschap opbouwen rond dit idee. Zeker als het gaat om het aankaarten van de politieke en sociale vragstukken rondom coding.
+
+Bij Calm Coding Socials ga je zelf aan de slag: er kan ter plekke studiegroepen ontstaan, chaotische pair programmering gebeuren of gaat iedereen gewoon op de bank zitten achter hun computers. Op het begin en eind van elke sessie houden we een kort kennisdelingsmoment om in/uit te checken met elkaar. Of je een online handleiding wilt volgen of aan een bepaald project wilt werken, ben je welkom om erbij te zijn!

+**Kauê Werner** is an auditory perception technical explorer and activist who in the last decade has been experimenting both in the digital and analog spaces of sound, most of the time, building wormholes in between. His main projects, ATMOSFET and Sintodrama (duo with Filipe Maliska), involve multigenre experimental electronic (sometimes acoustically flavored) music, using modular synthesis, DIY circuits, algorithmic composition, sound coding, virtual reality as well as sonification of odor molecules.
