There were a few issues that meant that the stream had to go down a couple of times, for the impatient/uninitiated, hard refreshing the narrowcast page might turn people away - there could be a backup stream so that when things go wrong, something takes its place, people don't have to troubleshoot the interface, and then when the streamer returns everyone is still around. What think you?

For audio stream we can use fallback mountpoint in the icecast.xml eg. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5573396/icecast-server-fall-back-file

@eastwood nice idea! did you mean audio or video stream? Or both?
There seem to be some possibilities and we're looking into them.
